The Phoenix

From warmth to cold

Shadows creep  

The phoenix wakes

From a fiery sleep

  

My roaring flame  

Reclaims its name  

“Fight back!”

“Fight for yourself!”

It’s all the same

You’ll see me soar

As I defy

The chains that keep me

Trapped inside

My feathers burn

Yet grow anew  

A bold reminder

That you can, too. 

 

Like the phoenix

Fierce and free  

I’m destined for infinity
