Katherine Abdelkerim, MS, LMFT
Meet Katherine
I didn’t become a therapist just to sit in a room and talk about feelings.
I became a therapist because I deeply care about how people experience themselves, their relationships, and the world around them.
At the core of everything I do is this belief: The human spirit is incredibly resilient and we all deserve to feel safe being our authentic selves.
I’m an inclusive, affirming Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Los Angeles, and I bring my full humanity into the work I do.
That means I’m not neutral about people’s right to exist, to be seen, and to be supported.
I believe in showing up for my clients not only inside the therapy room, but in how I move through the world.
“Be messy and complicated and afraid and show up anyway.”
- Glennon Doyle
I am committed to making high-quality mental health care more accessible and inclusive. I understand that financial, cultural, and systemic barriers can impact how and when people seek support. My approach is grounded in meeting clients with both clinical depth and real-world awareness.
What Grounds Me
A lot of what inspires my work comes from past experiences, nature, exploring, and creativity.
Past experiences remind me how far I’ve come.
Nature reminds me that growth doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful.
Exploring ignites a sense of curiosity in me. It keeps me open, present, and willing to see things from different perspectives.
Creativity gives me a way to process, express, and make meaning of things.
What I Care About
Creating affirming spaces that go beyond surface-level inclusivity
Helping people build real confidence, not just cope
Encouraging depth, curiosity, and self-trust to work towards living a more authentic life
Supporting therapists and professionals so they don’t have to do this work alone
Building community that isn’t performative. I’m a community builder at heart — I care deeply about building community that feels real, not transactional. Spaces where people can connect and grow together.
I love thinking outside the box and creating opportunities that actually feel good to be part of.
